About the Owner

RatePro Mortgage is owned and operated by Rick Gilbert. Rick, his wife Rosie and their three children moved to Goochland, Va in 1990 and have called it home ever since. Rick's eldest daughter attends Virginia Tech (go Hokies!) while his son and youngest daughter attend high school locally. If Rick isn't running in the Monument 10K, making custom wood furniture, or coaching basketball, he can be found working to support his community through his local church and the Goochland Chamber of Commerce.

RatePro Mortgage was founded in 1993, as Home Equity Mortgage, Inc. During the mid- nineties to early 2000, our focus was on helping homeowners maximize the equity in their home.

As the market began to change, so did we. We shifted our focus and continued to educate ourselves on the latest trends and resources available for all types of mortgage financing. Over the past 10 years, we have had the privilege to work with a wide variety of homeowner: from firsttime buyers to retirees looking to downsize; and those with a challenging credit history to those with an exceptional credit rating. And, because we’re local we know the area, the realtors and the closing attorneys. These relationships help ensure you have a smooth and hassle-free home buying experience. And, because we’ve been in the business since the mid-nineties, we have strong relationships with the best lenders in the country.

In 2011, we renamed our company to reflect the breadth of services and knowledge we possess in all aspects of the home buying industry. With a keen eye on interest rate markets you can feel confident your mortgage will lock in at just the right time. The practice of delivering a personal, stress-free experience for customers continues to this day.
